Nevada County Launches Inaugural Citizens Academy

How much do you know about your County Government? Nevada County is offering local residents the opportunity to go inside the workings of county offices during a Citizens Academy that is starting next month.

Nevada County Supervisor Nate Beason says County CEO Rick Haffey came up with the idea. One goal is to allow Nevada County citizens to become more familier with the functions of Nevada County government. Supervisor Beason says another goal is to peak public interest in serving on commissions.

Beason says the Citizens academy starts January 12th and will be on Monday evenings through March 16th. *

Class size will be limited so interested parties should go to the county website to fill out an application. The deadline to register for the Citizen’s Academy is December 19th.
