Nevada County Reads Event Tonight

By Ashlyn Rhodes

Nevada County Reads is hosting an event tonight at the Foothills Event Center off Idaho Maryland Road in Grass Valley.  This year’s Nevada County Reads book is Trash by Andy Mulligan, a story about three boys who live and work in a dump site and find an unusual bag that could change everything for them.  County Librarian Laura Pappani says the book tells a story of mystery and adventure.

The event will host nonprofit organizations talking about volunteer opportunities and a fashion show from up-cycling artist troupe Haute Trash.  There will also be free refreshments provided by the Friends of the Nevada County Libraries.  Pappni says it’s a fun event to bring attention to an awesome program.

Doors open at 5:30 and the fashion show starts around 6.  You can borrow a copy of Trash from any branch of the Nevada County Library, or buy it from a local book store.  For more information about the event tonight, or about the Nevada County Reads program, call Laura Pappani at (530) 265-7078.
