NEVADA COUNTY SEARCH AND RESCUE OFFERS VOLUNTEER TRAINING

Not every county has a search and rescue team as active as Nevada County’s. Del Clement is the Volunteer Coordinator and says they have gone on 39 search and rescue missions so far this year. The latest one was for a woman who got stuck in the snow north of the town of Washington and wasn’t sure where she was. All Three people in the vehcile got rescued that day.
Clement says they could use a few more search and rescue voluteers..

Clement says one of the things they ask is that a person really be committed to it because it does take time and training. There is a new class
starting up next month.

They do three training academies every year and the next one is starting the second week in January and it runs for 6 weeks.
