Nevada County Sheriff’s Assist With Housing for Evacuees

Nevada County Sheriff’s Office has taken on some extra duties with the influx of Valley evacuees from Sutter and Yuba Counties.  Sheriff Keith Royal says they have about 500 people staying at the Nevada County Fairgrounds and the Sheriff’s office is providing security.

The Fairgrounds is also taking in animals that are part of the evacuation and the Sheriff’s office is assisting there too.

And finally the Sheriff says, Nevada County is assisting with the housing of prisoners that are displaced because of the mandatory evacuation.

Sheriff Royal says Alameda County also has room for 2,000 prisoners at their jail so they will be able to help Sutter and Butte counties  with the housing of their evacuated inmates.
