Nevada County Unemployment Up Slightly

Mixed news about Nevada County’s economy. The unemployment rate is up slightly to 8.7 percent in October, compared to 8.5 percent a month earlier. Justin Wehner (WAY’-ner) with the state Economic Development Department in Sacramento says, though, that the slight spike was expected…

Wehner says most of that is in the travel and tourism sector. The state unemployent rate for October is 10.2 percent. The national rate checks in at 7.9 percent.
