The sector with the second-highest numerical climb was Retail Trade, with a 90-job monthly increase, followed by Mining, Logging, and Construction, with a 70-job increase. And despite the monthly spike in the unemployment rate, Nevada County’s ranking improved 3 spots, with the 12th-lowest rate among the 58 counties. Allejo also notes that the May rate was the lowest rate for that month in 16 years.
