Tomorrow morning (Dec. 12) hundreds of motorcycle riders from around California will be converging at the Rood Center for the 24th Annual Nevada County Food and Toy Run parade to the Fairgrounds. Thom Staser has been organizing the Toy Run for the past 24 years and says in that time, it has never rained on the Nevada county food and Toy Run.

The children are selected by Head Start and Staser says each child typically receives at least three toys. Food is also given to families who need it.
The Toy Run parade of motorcycles will leave the Rood Center straight up at noon tomorrow with a police escort and volunteers blocking traffic at intersections so there is no interruption in the parade.

Staser says because of the Nevada County Food and Toy Run, a lot of local families will have an early Christmas, when they may not have had one at all. People are also welcome to come to the fairgrounds tomorrow afternoon to watch as the donated items are given out.
