Nevada Theatre Turns 150

The Nevada Theatre on Broad Street turns 150 year old on Friday September 11th. And on Saturday the Nevada theater Commission is planning an all day celebration for the community to come celebrate.

Commissioner Kathy Hillis says about 3 years ago the Nevada Theatre Commission worked with KVMR to connect KVMR’s new building with the back side of the Nevada Theatre.
The result was a new back stage area that has opened the Theatre to handle much larger productions, like Sierra Stages recent showing of The Producers.

Commissioner Ron Spiller says another improvement for the audience is all new seating throughout the theatre.

The tours of the Nevada Theatre will begin at 10 am and continue all day until 5 pm when Hillis says they will pull the corks for a Gala Party  going until 8 pm.
