The Madelyn Helling Library has a new venue for summer programs and other activities. Construction is complete on a new outdoor amphitheater. It will be called the ‘Marian E. Gallagher M-D Amphitheater’, and County Librarian Laura Pappani says it was given its name by long time volunteer Jackie Wilson, who gave a generous donation for the building…
The facility it’s under the trees, so there’s plenty of shade, it has a covered stage, bench seating for about 30 people, and room for about a hundred with folding chairs. There’s also artificial grass in front for the kids to sit. Pappani says the new amphitheater will get a lot of use…
The library will * not * charge a rental fee to non-profits for use of the amphitheater, and Pappani says they are still putting together a plan for other groups’ use of the new venue. The grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be Monday June 12 at 11am. There will also be a brief concert, courtesy of In Concert Sierra.
