New Candidate in NC City Council Race

A new candidate has declared he is running for Nevada City City Council.  40 year old Jonathan Valdman announced his candidacy Wednesday afternoon. Valdman says he feels that a number of Nevada Citty residents don’t feel they are being represented in the current council and he would like to be their voice.

Valdman first moved to Nevada County in 1995 and has lived here consistently for the last seven years and in Nevada City for about a year and a half. He previously owned a yoga studio above JJ Jackson and is now owner of Forever Flowering Greenhouses south of Grass Valley.
Being a former Nevada City business owner he understands the importance of both a local and tourist economy.

As a father, Valdman feels Nevada City is one of the most ideal places to raise a child; and he has a strong commitment to the Boardwalk project and is also concerned about the recent decision to turn off the lights strung above Commercial Street.

Valdman is inspired by the commitment of the citizens that participate in City Council meetings whether for or against an issue; and he feels drawn to hear from the people about where they would like to see things go. He says Nevada City is an amazing, diverse community of people feels grateful for the opportunity to help make our dreams a reality.
