New Charges In Shooting Death In Grass Valley

A recent change in state law means only one suspect in the recent vehicle-to-vehicle shooting death, in Grass Valley, of a Nevada County woman is expected to be charged with murder. Assistant District Attorney Chris Walsh says charges have actually been dropped against one of the original seven suspects from Texas and Louisiana. Meanwhile, Walsh says the charge against the suspected shooter, 22-year-old Trey Richard, of Dallas, is expected to be changed again to murder at the next court proceeding on Friday. That’s after the victim, 36-year-old Shanta Olsen, who was considered brain dead, was taken off life-support. The transaction was attempted at a home on South Ponderosa Way, on November seventh, where neither the victim nor the man lived.
