New Executive Director Takes Helm of ERC

A new executive director has been officially hired to lead the Nevada County Economic Resource Council. Jon Gregory of Innovate NorthState was officially approved by the ERC Board Thursday morning. Gregory’s background in economic development is a strength and he is excited about the opportunity to use his regional experience and apply it at a grassroots level. There are three initial areas Gregory would like to focus efforts.

Part of that process is identifying how to differentiate Nevada County from other economic competitors. Gregory says leadership is key.

The third area is limiting the scope of work.

Gregory expanded on other ideas for moving the ERC forward in the upcoming year.
2014 ERC Chairperson Lisa Swarthout and Jon Gregory have established an ERC Board retreat in early February in order to identify that scope of work.
