A new land acquisition in the Tahoe National Forest is good news for hikers, and others who enjoy recreation. The federal government has purchased over 13-hundred acres in Nevada County north of Interstate 80 near Donner Summit.
Tahoe National Forest Public Information Officer Ann Westling says you’ll be able to explore some new areas…
The land was previously owned by Sierra Pacific Industries, and Westling says it was purchased in three parcels…
Westling says the Forest Service had been working on acquiring the land for about 15 years. The purchase price was 1.3 million dollars.
