Sammie’s Friends Executive Director Cheryl Wicks says because of that it’s hard to capture a feral cat, but the shelter has traps available and their goal is to spay and neuter as many feral cats as they can and then find new homes for them.

Several feral cats are waiting at the animal shelter to have a new home. Wicks says they just need to be contained for a couple of weeks so that they don’t run off.

Wicks says cats can have 3 litters a year and one set of cats within three years can produce close to one million cats.
