New Lawn Limits Not A Major Concern

The latest drought regulations being imposed are not a major concern for Nevada County’s Building Department director. The regulations, passed by the California Water Commission, will limit the amount of turf grass on future construction to a-quarter of a landscaped area, from the current one-third. The new rules follow state-mandated watering restrictions that went into effect in June, with watering limited to two days a week. Governor Brown also signed a bill this week that allows brown lawns without residents’ facing sanctions by homeowners’ associations.
