New Wellness Series on Dementia at Cascades of Grass Valley

A question people may wonder as they age is “Are the changes in my memory and thinking normal, and what can we do about it? Those questions will be answered by neuropsychologist Dr. Bonnie Connor tomorrow night at a new Series called Wellness Wednesdays presented by Cascades of Grass Valley.

Dr Connor will discuss the various types of dementia and how they impact the person, their family and caregivers.

Dr. Connor says a stroke can also cause what’s called vascular dementia as well as a concussion and brain injury.   Women tend to develop dementia more than men but Dr. Connor says that’s because they live longer. She says there are things a person can do to keep their minds sharp.

The Wellness Wednesdays series begins tomorrow night (April 2) at 6:30 p.m. at Cascades of Grass Valley (formerly HighGate Sr. Living) 415 Sierra College Drive, Grass Valley. The program is for caregivers, family members, professionals and anyone who wants to learn more about the topic of dementia. It is free to the public.
