New Year’s Domestic Violence Leads to Arrest

A New Year’s celebration ended up with a family dispute that landed a suspect in jail and a mother and child sent to the hospital. Suspect Jourdan Scott-Brown, his girlfriend and seven month old daughter, had been to dinner at a Soda Springs area restaurant when the two adults began arguing. Sheriff Keith Royal says the suspect then tried to leave with the child.

The suspect then allegedly drove at excessive speeds upwards of 90 miles per hour along westbound Highway 80.

The parties got back in the car and proceeded to the town of Washington where sheriff’s deputies arrested Jourdan Scott-Brown for child endangerment as well as a battery and domestic violence for allegedly hitting his girlfriend in the face several times during the argument. The mother and child were transported to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital to be evaluated and the Scott-Brown was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility.
