NID Approves Emergency Declaration

Another local coronavirus emergency declaration has been made in Nevada County. This one comes from the Nevada Irrigation District Board of Directors. The district says it’s needed, to protect customers and employees, while ensuring water deliveries are maintained. But Wilcox says it’s not anticipated the fund will need to be tapped very much at this time. The declaration also allows the district to enter into mutual aid contracts with neighboring water agencies. And officials say it addresses the potential conditions of a widespread coronavirus transmission, affecting the district’s rate of employee absenteeism and continuity of operations.
