NID Conservation Rate About Half Of A Year Ago

Water consumption by customers in the Nevada Irrigation District continues to be lower than a year ago, when the state mandated a maximum conservation rate of 36-percent. The rate was 19-percent in July, compared to 2013. That’s after hitting the target a year ago. That’s not surprising to NID Operations Manager Chip Close, but he says it’s still a good savings…

The latest rate for California was 21 and a half percent in June, six points lower than a year ago, and state regulators have vowed to scrutinize communities where water use was lower. But Close says they had such a wet winter that the state approved a zero conservation target this summer.
