NID Conservation Rate Drops In Half

A dramatic drop in water savings for Nevada County’s largest provider. After staying consistently at or above the state-mandated target all summer, which is 36-percent, the September conservation rate for the Nevada Irrigation District fell to 19-percent, when comparing it to 2013. Meanwhile, Scherzinger says rate adjustments beyond what’s already planned for N-I-D over the next five years are a possibility, if revenue keeps dropping from customers using less water, plus the expense of conservation programs.
