NID Conservation Rate Up Despite Dry February

The state recently reduced the mandate to 33-percent. But, with reservoir levels above average, and expected to all be at capacity soon, Close says NID, will ask the Water Resources Control Board to reduce it to just 4-percent, at its April 20th meeting. He says the Board should regionalize rates, instead of basing them on the overall state water picture…

NID also recently rescinded its drought declaration. Meanwhile, statewide, Californians saved only 12-percent in February, down 5 points from January. But overall conservation, dating back to June of last year, stands at 23-point-9 percent, just slightly below Governor Brown’s 25-percent statewide mandate, when compared to 2013 numbers. It’s 29-point-4 percent for NID.
