It’s currently designed to hold about 110-thousand acre-feet of water, which would be much larger than Rollins Reservoir. Two hydroelectric plants would also be part of the project, along with what’s described as “low impact” boating recreation. Revenue from the hydroplants could be the main funding source. The estimated cost is 250 to 300-million dollars. The goal is to begin construction in 2021, which is also the year NID marks its 100th anniversary.
