Chip Close says supplies are currently at 125-percent of normal. But they must still conserve at a 33-percent rate, under the current state regulations. The State Water Resources Control Board will consider a staff proposal, at its meeting next week, that would allow water providers to set their own rates. Close says they would submit verifiable supply projections, based on on the precipitation totals of 2013 through 2015. Governor Brown is also making permanent certain outdoor watering restrictions. Close says water districts must also still report supply and use information to the state monthly. He says NID’s conservation rate proposal should be out by around mid-June.
