NID Recreation Fees Going Up Again

The new year will also mean another increase in recreation fees in the Nevada Irrigation District. The change was approved at the Board of Directors meeting on Wednesday. But Reyes says the increases are moderate. For example, the standard tent site fee is going up just two more dollars and just another dollar for day use. But that’ll still provide a significant funding boost to take care of some increasingly urgent issues…

Reyes also says the fees are comparable to other areas. The increases take effect January first. Meanwhile, Reyes says visitation at NID’s recreational facilities continued to lag this year, due to the COVID Delta Variant surge and wildfire threats and smoke. But it was better than 2020, when activities were shut down for a significant portion of the year.
