The Nevada Irrigation District Board of Directors yesterday authorized a study to improve water capacity at the Lake Wildwood Water Treatment Plant, which supplies Lake Wildwood and Penn Valley.
NID General Manager Rem Scherzinger says the study will look at connecting the E. George Water Treatment Plant on Banner Mountain with the Lake Wildwood plant to improve service in Lake Wildwood and Penn Valley.
Scherzinger says the new pipeline alternative is seen as part of NID’s bigger vision of connecting the District’s treated water systems in an effort to enhance system reliability and safety. The Board awarded the $116,300 contract to HDR Engineering. The study is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
