The Nevada Irrigation district (NID) is out with their annual water report, required of water districts by the state. NID conducted their sanitation survey to judge quality of water flowing from the mountains into water treatment plants. Chip Close the Treated Water Superintendent for NID says the report is good news for NID Customers.
That is also good news to NID board members. The NID board has approved a power sale agreement with pacific Gas and Electric Company. The Agreement if for a 20-year fixed payment agreement. NID will market its Yuba-Bear Power project hydroelectric energy production to PG&E beginning July first of 2013. Under the new contract, NID will assume responsibility for operation and maintenance of the power project and will earn revenues from its production. The new power sale agreement has already been approved by PG&E.
