NJUHSD Gears Up For Normal Operations

This is the first full week of the summer break for K-12 students in Nevada County. But staff at the Nevada Joint Union High School District is already preparing for the new term, which begins August 16th. And, speaking on “KNCO: Insight”, District Superintendent Brett McFadden reiterates that it will finally be back to normal, with all students returning to traditional in-person classroom learning…

And those guidelines, at this point, still include a mask mandate. There will be no distance learning option. But McFadden says families can access that through the district’s normal independent study program at the North Point Academy. Meanwhile, he says there have been some staffing challenges, especially with classified employees…

Meanwhile, the district’s teacher’s union has just recently ratified a new contract agreement, with around 90-percent support, according to McFadden.
