NJUHSD Reformats Independent Study High School

In an effort to retain students in the district by expanding flexibility, the Nevada Joint Union High School District is renaming and reformatting the Independent Study program formerly known as Sierra Mountain High School. Principal Anita Bagwell says that the new North Point Academy will continue to provide independent study but will provide now onsite classes as well as allow students to participate in classes and sports at Nevada Union and Bear River High Schools.

Bagwell says the North Point Academy allows families to work with the school to create an individual learning plan to meet each student’s needs. Application for North Point Academy is taking online applications through njhsd.com website.
