No Arrest So Far In Road Rage Crash

More details on that road rage accident that happened Thursday afternoon. CHP Officer Mike Steele says it started, for still-unknown reasons, on westbound Highway 20, near Harmony Ridge Road, just outside of Nevada City, between the drivers of two pick-ups, with the aggressor identified as 46-year-old Lawrence Alexander of Smartsville…

Steele says as both pickups were near the Brunswick Road exit, on the Golden Center Freeway, when Alexander reportedly passed the other driver on the left and turned his vehicle into the path of the victim driver’s vehicle. Both vehicles went down an embankment, with Alexander’s pickup striking a tree, causing him major injuries. No injuries in the other vehicle….

Alexander is still hospitalized and has not been arrested so far. Steele says that’ll be up to the Nevada County District Attorney’s Office, after a report has been sent by the CHP. It’ll likely take several weeks to complete the report. Steele also says alcohol and drugs have not been ruled out as a factor.
