No Ebola In Nevada County

The good news is there is no Ebola in Nevada County. The better news is that health officials do not expect it to ever get here.
Nevada County Public Health Officer, Dr. Ken Cutler, says with increased media attention about recent Ebola outbreaks in West Africa and one case in the United States, he wanted to get the word out that Nevada County is in good shape.

Dr. Cutler says that the outbreaks have been mainly in several West African countries where there is poor public health infrastructure and lack of quality health care facilities. Cutler clarifies two more reasons officials do not believe Ebola will spread.

The second reason is that it requires direct contact not casual contact with a person presenting with Ebola.

However, that being said, Dr. Cutler also says that the Nevada County Public Heath Department and local medical facilities are prepared if a suspect case appears in Nevada County.
