But Triple-A spokesman Sergio Avila says data suggests fewer people will hit the road, compared to years past for what’s considered the unofficial start of the summer travel season. And only essential travel, or within your local area, is still being urged. Meanwhile, people are starting to plan future vacations…
Avila says the previous record low was during the 2009 recession. Last year, over five-million Californians travelled more than 50 miles to their destination.
