No More Spike In Stomach Flu Cases Here

It looks like concerns about an outbreak of a common, but very contagious, stomach flu in Nevada County are calming. The Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning in Grass Valley was closed on Monday, after a little over 30 students and staff were reporting symptoms that are similar to the so-called Norovirus. There were also a few cases reported at Bear River and Nevada Union High Schools. County Health Officer Ken Cutler says there is still no lab confirmation, but it looks like there has been no significant spread of the illness…

Cutler says the last time he can recall an oubreak of such a virus was around 4 years ago, although it wasn’t occurring at schools.
