Two cases were reported at Bear River High School a couple of weeks ago. There’s been no quarantine or school closer. Nevada County Health Officer Doctor Ken Cutler says they’re still not sure how the students got the mumps…

Mumps can spread quickly, but are also preventable with a vaccination. Cutler says for most people it is a mild illness, but can cause more severe complications.
