Efforts to find the shooter of a search and rescue volunteer have been unsuccessful so far. 69-year-old Steven Wolf, a 10-year volunteer from Placer County, was shot in the hip Tuesday evening. Royal says both people are doing okay. Wolf was helping look for a missing 75-year-old hiker, who was last seen last Thursday getting ready to hike down a Yuba River trail, a few miles from the the town of Washington.
