‘No Smoking’ signs are starting to appear in downtown Grass Valley. The city passed an ordinance back in November banning smoking in city-owned property in the downtown area, which includes streets and sidewalks. The ban went into effect December first. Police chief John Foster says other things are being done to get the word out…
Foster says they are referring to the border area as the ‘downtown core’ from South Church Street to West Main Street to East Main Street to Bennett Street to Tinloy Street to Neal Street. Foster says he is not planning on having his department write a lot of tickets, but says officers will issue citations if necessary…
Foster says courts have established the fine at a minimum of 175 dollars.
