North San Juan Cafe Burglarized

A popular eating establishment and center of the North San Juan community was burglarized over the weekend. The Ridge Cafe was broken into either late Sunday night or early Monday morning. Co-owner Christina Reese tells KNCO that a potential suspect is a resident of the community.

Reese say that community members have been concerned about a particular individual.

The restaurant owners feel the person was familiar with the establishment. The thief not only got away with 800 dollars cash from the register but also knew where the petty cash was located.

Reese is wrestling with what she could have done differently to prevent the break-in, but she also acknowledges that this doesn’t appear to be an isolated incident. Unfortunately there has been a number of thefts in the area.

Anyone with information about the Ridge Cafe break-in is urged to contact he Nevada County Sheriff’s Office.
