Officials involved with last week’s food distribution in North San Juan are calling the event a success…
Ana Acton with North Gold Senior Mountaineers says the pouring rain on Thursday did knock attendance down slightly, but 118 families representing about 250 people were given food. Volunteers from North San Juan drove down to the Food Bank of Nevada County, and brought it back up for distribution. The Food Bank has suspended deliveries to North San Juan because of safety concerns, but no incidents were reported this time. But will the food distribution be able to continue?…
Acton says there’s no real system in place to rely on Ridge volunteers to truck up the food from the Food Bank each month.
