It’s been getting cold at night, but not cold enough yet for the Salvation Army to open its warming shelter for the homeless. That could change this week, with temperatures expecting to get down below freezing, perhaps as early as tonight (Monday). Lieutenant Sid Salcido with the Salvation Army in Grass Valley says they have a strict temperature guideline as to when the shelter opens up…
And even though the shelter has not opened yet for overnight stays, Salcido says the Salvation Army needs your help to try to keep these people as warm as possible…
Their shelter on Alta Street takes in people that don’t qualify to stay in places like Hospitality House or Divine Spark, including those addicted to alcohol or drugs, or those who have pets.
