When Club Sierra closed it’s doors abruptly in March after being purchased by the South Yuba Club, that came as quite a shock to the Grad Night committee at Nevada Union. Tina Skrukrood is the Chairperson of Grad night and says they have been using Club Sierra since 1990  to put on a night of special events in a safe enclosed environment to keep the students safe while still having a good time. The new owners of the building, South Yuba Club, will have the club under construction in June so the Grad Night committee was left to find a new location.

They finally decided to use portions of the Nevada Union High School Campus so they will have the black box drama room, the cafeteria , the staff lounge, the hallway between the principal and vice principals office and the west gym because they all connect.

Those shifts will be for 4 hours.
With the change in venue, Grad Night is in need of additional chaperones and volunteers to help with set up, clean up and working the event. They aer also seeking additional monetary donations and prizes. Skrukrood says people can contact her at 530-713-2296 or email to
