Oakland VA Services Blasted by Inspector General

The United States Inspector General reports that the Oakland Office of Veteran’s Affairs is doing a dismal job processing claims for services and medical care for military personnel returning to civilian life. District 1 Congressman Doug LaMalfa concurs with the inspector general’s report.

LaMalfa says the Oakland Office was not handling claims properly and in some cases even lost the claims that needy veterans have submitted.

The Congressman refers to some alarming numbers based on the inability of many veteran’s to get the services they need.

As a result LaMalfa says that his office is working with veterans and people that can verify the accuracy of the Inspector General’s report and take additional action needed to be sure those whom have served the United States are in turn served upon their departure from military service.
