The first play from scrimmage went 67 yards for an Oakmont touchdown, and the Vikings never looked back, beating Nevada Union 29-20 on Homecoming Night at Hooper Stadium. The Miners (3-4, 0-2 in Foothill Valley League) were down 26-0 in the second quarter, but their comeback effort fell short. Nevada Union’s touchdowns were a 35 yard run by Dawson Fay, a 91 yard blast by Jaxon Horne, and a 32 yard pass from Parker Heilaman to A.J. Meyer. The Junior Varsity also fell to Oakmont in a similar fashion 35-34. N-U trailed 27-6 at the half, scored a touchdown in the final minute of the game, but missed the potential game-winning two-point conversion by inches.
