Officer Involved Shooting Death in Yuba City

At least one person was shot and killed early Wednesday in a barrage of police gunfire at Plumas and A streets in Yuba City. According to Yuba City Police Operations Support Manger,  Shawna Pavey, the incident began just after 8:00 PM Tuesday evening when officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the local Burger King.

The suspect fled after grabbing the cash. The incident continued just after 2:00 AM when a call from another law enforcement agency came into the department.

Multiple agencies from both Yuba and Sutter counties were involved in the pursuit.

Once the vehicle was stopped, according to witness reports ,  verbal orders were given by officers which were not followed and multiple gunshots were fired.

The investigation is ongoing to determine what occurred between the Burger King robbery and the ensuing chase that began in Yuba County and also the number of shots fired and by which officers and suspect.
