Guilty of attempted manslaughter. That was the verdict returned this afternoon in the case of 37 year-old Eric Hodges. Nevada County Assistant District Attorney Anna Ferguson says Hodges was charged with three counts–one of attempted murder against his uncle, one of attempted murder against his aunt, and one count of making criminal threats…
Ferguson says she had to stay in the courtroom after the verdict was read, and didn’t get an explanation from the jurors…
Hodges entered his aunt and uncle’s home and attacked them with a claw hammer in December of 2012. Although she didn’t get the verdict she wanted, Ferguson says she was still pleased…
Ferguson says Hodges’ sentence could be anything from probation to eight and a half years in prison. Sentencing has been scheduled for June 2.
