One Driver, Two Car Chases, Multiple Charges

Excitement on the streets of Grass Valley Tuesday night just after 11:00PM. What started with expired registration led to two car chases, a collision, and an arrest. Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says that a deputy originally saw the white Pontiac sedan at the Chevron Station off of La Barr Meadows Road and noticed expired registration tags.

At that point, Sheriff Royal says the deputy attempted top initiate a traffic stop.

However, the vehicle description had been broadcast to all local law enforcement and the vehicle was once again spotted near Squirrel Creek Road.

The driver of the Pontiac attempts to lose the deputy by turning onto a side road.

Abbott,-Clayton123aThe suspect, later identified as Clayton Abbott, foot bails and attempts to run into a heavy brush.

Abbot was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on multiple charges.
