A sheriff’s Deputy’s traffic stop on a car for not having working brake lights and no visible license plate resulted in the arrest of one of Nevada County’s most wanted criminals. Sheriff Keith Royal says the traffic stop occurred on Nevada City Highway at Banner Lava Cap Road around 5pm Tuesday afternoon. The deputy contacted the driver and also attempted to identify who the passenger was.
Carmen was wanted on an outstanding warrant on a number of drug charges. The sheriff says a search of her person and the vehicle during the traffic stop resulted in Carmen facing additional charges of possession of narcotics for sale, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and the outstanding warrant. She was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility.
