One-Vehicle Crash Kills Auburn Man

Auburn area Highway Patrol officers are investigating a fatal collision over the weekend. C-H-P  Officer David Martinez says a 33 year old Auburn man was driving a Volkswagen Jetta at estimated speeds of 70 miles an hour on Highway 49 near Lorenson Road Saturday evening, when he lost control of the vehicle. *

When the vehicle hit the tree, the driver was ejected. He was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver was declared deceased at the scene. His name is not being released pending notification of family.
