One person has died in a Grass Valley house fire in a neighborhood near Condon Park. Fire Chief Mark Buttron says dispatchers got the 9-1-1 call early this afternoon (Monday)…
Buttron says the house was not fully involved, but there was smoke pushing from the eaves, the front door, and several other parts of the house. Firefighters found the victim inside…
The identity has not been determined yet, and Buttron would only say the victim was a female of unknown age. An illegal unpermitted living space was found in the basement of the home and determined to be the area from which the fire originated. The fire appears to have started in the basement area. The basement area was found to have a single access point from the rear exterior of the home. A dog was also trapped in the basement area and was later found deceased.
