Operation Name-A-Seat Moving Along

A program to replace the bleachers at the Grass Valley Veterans Building is progressing. The Center for the Arts wants to get rid of the bench seats, and put in more comfortable individual seats with backs on them. They also came up with the idea to name each seat after a veteran. Center for the Arts Executive Director Julie Baker says their idea is appropriately called “Operation Name-A-Seat”…

If you would like to donate, but don’t have someone to name a seat after, there is a list you can pick from, compiled by local veterans organizations. Baker says they are about a quarter of the way to their goal of 483 seats, and some prep work is underway at the Veterans Building…

Cost of a seat plaque is 125 dollars. Baker says they haven’t set an exact date as a goal, but hope to have all of the seats sold by this summer.
