Operation Shoulder Tap Aims at Youth Alcohol Buys

A decoy operation, to make sure businesses in Nevada County are enforcing underage drinking laws, included a minor decoy trying to buy liquor at a store – along with adults asked to buy alcohol for minors.

A Sept. 29 plain clothes operation, involving minors under the direct supervision of law enforcement, resulted in citations to six people and the arrest of two others. An Alcoholic Beverage Control grant funded the effort that took place mostly in western Nevada County.
A business that prevented the purchase of liquor will be sent a letter of congratulations.
