The largest annual event in Nevada County is still planning to go on as scheduled, at least for now. Organizers of the Nevada County Fair, though, are also keeping track on any possible changes in social distancing requirements that would allow a five-day event that attracts a hundred-thousand people to take place in August. Fair Chief Executive Officer Patrick Eidman says they are considering all types of contingencies, but pushing back the fair to a later date would be difficult…
Eidman also says for the kids involved in showing animals, you can’t just keep feeding them for another couple of months. Steer season is already well underway, and those with smaller animals would be starting just about now…
Eidman says having the Junior Livestock and Ag Mechanics auctions online are options, and having a fair without the carnival area or arena events has also been discussed. Eidman says there is no definitive date for when they would have to announce a decision.
